so you're saying that if your daughter did have a child at 15, that you would not have helped your daughter and made sure she was still able to get a college education?

Not saying that at all.

Did you even read my post?

I did. You implied heavily that someone who has a kid won't finish college.

Why is this always looked at as a "bad thing"?

Other shamelessly selfish people don't see it as a bad thing.

Positive. I'm saying that preference for my kids, based on the options outlined in this thread, would be, in order of most desired to least desired:

Never pregnant until grown, married, college graduate.

If pregnant while in high school:

Abortion

Adoption

Wife and I raise the child

She raises the child

I worked for a man whose mother got pregnant for him at 15. He now owns several businesses and is a self made millionaire. I bet if she could go back, she'd kill him in the womb to avoid this horrible life that has befallen her

ETA: she's also a successful businesswoman

I would like to think that you would change your mind if it were to happen

if not, I just don't see how you, as a parent already, could tell your daughter that abortion is the best option

I just can't fathom that

I wouldn't talk about my 15yr old daughter's personal life on a fricking message board.

Also, you seem like a swell, but certainly trashy, father for demanding that your daughter has an abortion.

frick anybody who aborts an unborn baby!!! There are plenty of people who cannot have children of their own, and they would gladly adopt the baby.

Abortion is a bitch move and anyone who does it aught to be tried for murder!!!!

just my 2cents

You demand your daughter gets an abortion because you're not raising anymore babies (don't have the time, money, or resources), but your daughter refuses to get it aborted, as she wants to raise the child "on her own".

You have 2 options. You accept it and help your child raise the kid or see if she's open to an open adoption.

Or you kick her out the home and live with that decision as well.

Forcing an abortion is criminal and she has to sign off on it.

Did not want to read all 12 pages, but the question itself is faulty.

A 15 year old cannot raise a child "by herself" without family help from the grandparents. Therefore, she does not have full control of the decision to keep or not keep the baby.

After much prayer, it is a family decision.

And prisons are full of other people whose life went a completely different direction under the same circumstances. A handful of "success" stories doesn't settle the argument.

There are plenty of people who have gone on to live extremely successful live in spite of having to overcome a handicap, doesn't mean that if my daughter is diagnosed with a debilitating illness that I'm not going to look for a cure.
