What would you do if you were rear-ended and they fled the scene?

How far would you chase them and how fast would you drive?
Lets say you took off after them they sped up to 100+ mph in town, not interstate. Would you still continue to chase them?
Would you try to wreck them out, pit maneuver?

This happened to me at SLU's campus, she kept driving back to the apartments. I didnt chase because the traffic cameras got em. Chasing is the worst thing you can do.

Got hit at 65mph on the bridge, guy got sideways, but didn't go over.
I stayed straight, he gathered it back up and tried to pass me.
I blocked him, but didn't let him get close enough to hit me.
Called 911, got patched through to Causeway police (knuckleheads).
Let him pass, and they caught him at next to last crossover.
He was drunk af at 2:30 in the afternoon.
Drunk drivers suck arse.
I stayed straight, he gathered it back up and tried to pass me.
I blocked him, but didn't let him get close enough to hit me.

Let him pass, and they caught him at next to last crossover.

Happened to me in downtown Dallas in the late 90s. I took off after them, someone Tboned me. Bad decision

I wouldn't waste the effort chasing them. I would just pay my deductible, get my truck fixed, and move on.
Was recently hit and ran, while my truck was parked. Called the cops, since we couldn't narrow down where exactly it happened or who did it, he was unable to write an incident report. I just filed a claim with my insurance, and i should be getting my truck back friday.

Do NOT chase ! Chances are the driver has no insurance and/or has a warrant for criminal activity. In this pathetic state he has all the advantages. You hit someone while doing it and you are screwed by upstanding pieces of shite like Gordon McKernan, meanwhile NOTHING will happen to the perp. We live in a bizarro world and the criminals have nothing to lose, you/we do. It sucks but it is reality. If it's an illegal it is even worse.
