The U.S. soldiers on armored combat vehicles mistakenly drove through Romanian farming village in an area of ??Fetesti, Ialomita County.

According to a report by Agrointel, the unexpected military incident occurred in the Romanian city of Fetesti. It is reported that the U.S. combat vehicles, includes Abrams main battle tanks, destroyed part of the sowing of wheat, sunflower and corn, and sowed panic among the locals.

“Farmers working on a plot witnessed a real tank invasion by crops of wheat, sunflower and corn,” said Agrointel.

People say they tried to talk with the soldiers in military vehicles, but they were ignoring them and continued advancing through farms fields.

Farmers reported the incident to the police, but state that the police came up after a while and told local people that it was a NATO exercise, and the military were taking the wrong coordinates, mistakenly entering on the private land.

I can see why the people would be pissed, but I damn sure would not approach them and try to talk to them.

If I remember right when this used to happen in Germany, a government man would follow with a checkbook.

Darth can confirm.

I can only imagine the dismay an organized german farmer would feel when he saw tracks through his field.

We did this once by accident in Germany. There weren't any crops but we tore up the field. They were definitely compensated for it.

Because the commander could not read the map right and the commander looks surprised that they drove into a corn field. It is kind of hard to mistakenly drive into a corn field.

I wouldn't give a shite how surprised he looked. I'd be making sure I was getting paid.

Oh I am sure they will be compensated, but can you imagine being the farmer out there minding your own business and all of a sudden a tank is driving through your field. They would have to pay me extra so I could afford to buy new underwear.

Getting LMTVs, MTVs, and HEMTTs to maneuver through a small German village is quite the adventure.

Not that I know anything about that.

Yes but I would wait for the police man with the checkbook. If the commander mistakenly drove into a corn field without seeing it then he or she might mistakenly drive over me.

We didn't literally have anyone following us with a checkbook. They had to file a claim.

I'm not saying I would step in front of moving vehicles but I would definitely make an effort to ID the unit and the OIC.

We paid a lot of money to Michelin Tire whenever their rubber trees got shot up in Vietnam.

This ain't Vietnam. Our troops are trained very well on community relations. This was a big mistake but they will be very well compensated for lost revenue and we'll probably send the kids there a truck load of xboxs with American Flags on them.

They did not step out in front of it but they drove up to within spitting range of the tank in a white pickup and started yelling at it. That is a good way to get yourself mistaken for ISIS and finding out the capabilities of the new M1A3 firsthand.

It's a good idea to keep a safe distance from rolling stock but they were in zero danger of being fired upon, even if they had live rounds, which I doubt.

Our government needs to pay the people for their losses and apologize. Mistakes are made, make them right.
