For the love of god, not Delta State.
Agreed. How this is an option with the other two on the table is astonishing.

No one cares if they aren't good at swimming. Its a full ride to get a free education. And facilities wouldn't bother me as much in swimming. Is the water different?
No, but Delta State and Queens have really nice facilities. Her words were along the lines of Valpo's facility is really bad, and the brown in their color scheme doesnt help.
Is Valpo a brand? They have a top 15 Engineering School I noticed when poking around their website.
Edited: I found a pic of their swimming facility. Its not as bad as I imagined, just small. Also, they might be better in womens swimmers if they started recruiting girls without cottage cheese thighs. My goodness. Also, that is bad form that my 10 year old can accomplish.

Become their manager and ride them until they're washed out, and unable to make money. Like any good father would do.

Multiple factors.
Have they visited the schools?
Does either school offer their real-life field of study?
How does the school support the sport? What are the facilities like for her sport?
What is her housing option?
What is the culture on campus?

I wouldn't want my son to attend college for sports unless there's a chance he could go pro and that's his dream.
Otherwise go to college to study and follow your dreams for a career...play your sport as a hobby.

which one will provide her with the education to get a real job when she graduates?
Oh yes, forgot this. All three have nursing schools, which is what she wants to major in.
Well, it will also depend on where she plans to live long term. She may want to go to an instate school for nursing if she plans to live in that state. I would go for the Natty and degree.

Hold out for swimming NSD and see if LSU offers after they miss on one of their recruiting targets.
Valparaiso doesn't exactly bring much allure, especially as you said...they're one of the worst swimming teams in D1 and the facilities aren't very good. Both D2 schools being considered at top 10 teams in D2 and have nice facilities...pick between the 2 based on academics and how much they like campus.

Send the kid to Cleveland and don't look back.

If she hasn't really had dreams of being elite in that field, I'd go with whatever offers the best education. Is she foing to college primarily to swim, or simply using swimming to advance her education? That's the deciding factor.

Have they visited the schools?
Yes, they have visited all three.
Does either school offer their real-life field of study?
All three offer Nursing. Valpo is probably the better academic school of the three.
How does the school support the sport? What are the facilities like for her sport?
At Queens, its a big deal. Its supported at DSU and an afterthought at Valpo.
What is her housing option?
Residence Halls are residence halls.
What is the culture on campus?
Queens is in Charlotte. That's a cool city. Valpo and DSU are in small college towns.

Queens is a small school. I went to a similar school in the same athletic conference as them. It was a good experience, but I got homesick real fast. There wasn't much to do in a small mountain town in NC. At least Charlotte is a big city with other activities. If her family can afford I would send her there to win championships.
I still regret leaving after one semester.

Valpo is an hour from Chicago. Tons of grads there. They have a nationally recognizable name from that and from basketball.
Delta State is an hour from Jackson.

Delta state is nationally known as an excellent swim program. The school is good too. I wouldn't overlook it.

Rhodes in Memphis has a great swim team but I think they are Division III

Outside of a very tiny swimming community, no one knows Delta State even has a swim team. I went to Ole Miss and my wife is from Jackson, and I promise neither of us knew. I knew a lot of people that went to Delta State for stretches of their college career and I’ve never heard someone discuss their swim team.
Its not like that would get her a job either. Swimming doesn't pay the bills.
And I’m not discounting the people who get an education at Delta State to better their life, good for them, but Valparaiso is objectively a much better school with a far larger and better alumni network.
I’m just being realistic here.
And besides, I think Queens University would be better as well if they can easily afford the $6k. Its a better team and the coach is better known. This should be between it and Valpo IMO.
And Charlotte is an awesome city to launch a career and meet people from all over the country.

Like others have said, choose based on academics. I was in a similar situation when I was choosing colleges. Had several "full ride" offers from smaller schools but none had an Architecture program which is what I wanted to study since 5th grade. Went to LSU on a partial (very small) scholly.

Other things to compare...college experience, preparation for graduate school...where do the nursing programs rank?
Delta State is a public school that has about 4,000 students and has nursing degree Programs: RN-to-BSN, BS/BSN, MSN, Nurse Educator, Nurse Practitioner. In state and out of state tuition the same $6,012.
Valpariso is a private school with about 3,000 students. Nursing degree Programs: BS/BSN, LPN, RN-to-BSN, RN-to-MSN, MSN, Nurse Practitioner. Standard out of state tuition and fees $34,760.
Queen's University is a private school with about 2,000 students. Nursing degree Programs: Associate, RN-to-BSN, BS/BSN, RN-to-MSN, MSN, Nurse Educator. Out of state and in state tuition the same $30,910.
Just looking at pictures of campuses...Queens looks pretty awesome. Charlotte is an awesome town. Value-wise...Valpo is the best deal. Personally, I would probably try to steer the kid towards Queens. Regardless of the level of success...great area, good private school, nice facilities.
ETA...I had a friend from HS who got a swimming scholarship to UNCC back in the day. When some of us would go visit, we had a blast. Charlotte is a great town...beautiful area...and doesn't have mid-west Winters.

Clearly Queens. Unless it's academics suck. But Delta State ain't really wowing future employers. Valpo isn't really either.
Posted on 2/8/17 at 3:57 pm to anc
I'd advise going to the school with the best academics for whatever they want to do.
But other than that, I'd let the kid make the choice and just be there for whatever they needed during the process.
