Darth Vader the only one making sense in here. Russia is easily the biggest WWIII threat and never discount how events can escalate. As mentioned, WWII was believed to be inconceivable after WWI.

This is all nice, but it would not even be fair at the current point with how superior our Naval and Air ofrces are compared to the rest of the world. Yes China and Russia may have more total numbers, and probably greater production capacity for a war effort, because of how their current economies are structured, but as someone said in an earlier thread, how would they get over here? The U.S. as well noted by liberals has the nucleur capacity to the destroy the world 3X , so we are in good shape there as well. First though would accidently drop one on Pyongyang, and that nutcase, who no one actually believes is in power, other than for simple fact of keeping the face to an idea. His grandfather was in absoulte control, and his father had a lot of control, but this dude is merely a pupper. It is well documented he is just a child, going abck to his days in Switzerland.

Could see Putin also stabbing China and the rest of SE Asia in the back and just taking them all over and making a new Soviet Block, would be comical.

Truth is that everything is hypothetical at this point in terms of how well anyone's shite will work if and when "gameday" arrives. Much like our beloved Tigers, may look good in practice, and not so impressive in the actual game. In any event, whoever has the first mushroom going up in their yard will make sure that their enemies will have a few in their yards as well, roughly ten minutes later. No one will win a nuclear war and if WWIII is a nuke exchange, there won't be a WWIV unless it is fought with sticks and stones.

Younger folks probably ought to buy a copy of the movie "The Day After". That looked pretty bad, and was hypothesized to be minute compared to the real thing. USSR got all pissed off when the movie showed on TV because it made it look like they started the war. Some serious talking started shortly thereafter, and it really got serious after Reagan started talking about Star Wars Missile Defense System. That just about scared the shite out of the Russians.

I once read someone write the following on going to war with Russia: fighting a conventional war with Russia is like getting in a fist fight with someone that you know has a pistol in his pocket. You don't know if he will use it or when he will use it but you know that it is there.

Both of the kids have guns in their pockets, and one of them is severely outclassed in a hand-to-hand fight. It's a pretty scary scenario.

I also believe it is arrogant for us to believe we have Russia and china completely outclassed on the conventional battlefield. Germany was able to produce the worlds most powerful army, at the time, while under sanction. Do you truly believe that we know everything that the Commies have. I realize we have satellites and blackbirds but countries are very adept at concealing things they wish to conceal. The CIA's record is also not stellar on all fronts so I wouldn't take what they say as gospel.

Also remember that the most fleeting secrets are military secrets. Once something is unveiled on the battlefield other countries quickly figure out technology and employ it for themselves. The Commies have had over a decade to watch our conventional military machine work with everything we have in the middle east. It is foolish to believe they haven't watched us like hawks.

Shouldn't it be pretty easy to do a Google search? Here's a result, Wikipedia's definition of a "world war":

quote:

A world war is a war involving some of the world's most powerful and populous countries. World wars span multiple countries on multiple continents, with battles fought in multiple theaters.

I don't see how any of the conflicts going on right now fit this definition.
