I say this with love. You have a warped and distorted view of Christianity. I apologize on behalf of whoever the source of the misinformation was. You couldnt be more wrong.

All it takes it faith. That's it. Nothing more. Believe

Maybe you'd like to discuss these matters with my Father.

Right now in my current state? Well, if I would bang a very hot chick that was great in bed on a Saturday night and she would promise me that I'd get to do it again Sunday afternoon, if and only if I'd go to Church with her.

That's about how much I am against religion as a whole. It would take great sex with a beautiful woman to get me to go only once.

You're obviously not paying attention during all of your regular mass attendances.

Belief isn't a choice, the knowledge many have makes belief in religion impossible for them. I can SAY I believe, but true belief isn't something you concious my decide on.

No kidding. I wish I could wholeheartedly buy the whole thing, like I did when I was young, but it just ain't in the cards.

explain to me why you think this an acceptable church opinion. who's to say that the Easter and Christmas church goers aren't true believers? what if their thought is that these are the most pivotal times to show their faith, and emphasize it most by attending those services instead of attending every week of the year. not to mention, their lifestyles might not give them the opportunity to attend every week.

in your comment you did not mention if you do go every week but by the Easter/Christmas comment I am going to assume you do. with that being said, isn't anyone who walks into the church with full intent to show faith and loyalty to the cause welcome? your comment of "do us all a favor and stay home" goes back to my original post of avid church goers looking down upon those who don't attend the way they think is correct. you're basing what you think is accepted or not accepted off of personal opinion when instead maybe when someone walks into church on , Christmas day, Easter Sunday, any Sunday, Wednesday, or any other day you should ask yourself....W.W.J.D.

I would agree that, at most, Holiday-only church goers are half assing it. They may genuinely believe, and they may come up with all sorts of reasons for not attending regularly, but a devout follower is gonna find a church they like and do regularly. A Christian not going to church except on Holidays is like a football fan who doesn't watch anything but the Super Bowl. How big of a fan are you, really?

if i had to guess, i don't think solomon is 2000 years old....but by stating that, you at least acknowledge that god did indeed come down some 2000 years ago.

now, did solomon say god had to come down and reveal himself to him the flesh today, or anytime during solomon's life time? since you like to play with words....no, he simply said he would like for to come down and reveal himself to him. which he has done.....theres lots of books written about it. even testimonials.

No you cannot. Pray for divine intervention in something. Make sure you don't have selfish motives, God doesn't answer those type of prayers.

He already tells us how to test him to see if he's there, it's a shame so many are unwilling to tithe. He literally says "test me in this"

You do yourself a disservice by assuming well educated people can't mix with faith. Surely we have had enough discussions for you to respect my earthly knowledge of the sciences. It actually reinforces my faith.

There are books written about the battle of Middle Earth. Is that proof that it happened?

It is no accident that sheep was used as the metaphor.

We? I think you meant you. While I appreciate that your use of we likely comes from a considerate place, I surely don't need you speaking for me and lumping me with the sheep.

Does the perception of the sheep itself change whether or not it is lost? I say no.

yes I'm a dummy who can't grasp certain basic scientific principles. Maybe you should jump in some of the quantum mechanics and theory threads I'm in.
