Philadelphia has a big one, but it's not that complicated. I like them and see more and more of them being implemented. Once you get used to them, they work fine, but it's easy to detect the newbies.

I’d put a bar right by it with a balcony where you could wrap patch the inevitable hilarity. This could be better than boat launches, which are tough to beat.

That one looks confusing but there is lots of evidence that roundabouts/traffic circles are much more efficient traffic wise and obviously much less expensive than lights.

Do you even Youngsville? Traffic at the approaching 4 way stops moves faster than through their circles.

2005 Guardian Article on UK replacing roundabouts with traffic lights
2018 Article saying they are still replacing them
It seems that in certain ranges of traffic flow roundabouts are better, but as it gets busier they fail.
