I knew plenty of people that snorted coke for years and it never affected their jobs. None of them ever stole from their families.
Snorting coke was fun. It's something you did with other people while partying. People that do crack, meth and heroin don't play well with others and it is not fun. Hanging out with people doing either was a bummer.
I had a boss that got into freebasing coke and had a friend that started shooting it up. Doing either of those is the same as crack, meth or heroin in my mind. Had opportunities to do both, but just thought doing either would be stupid.

You are correct, but coke is a drug that people aren't ashamed to tell others that they have done; it's also done more in the open at parties. People are more secretive with meth.
The stigma is that meth, heroin and crack are dirty drugs done by hardcore addicts. Coke is the party drug. The reality is that people party on meth, it's just seen as a bit more taboo.

You've seen people that get hooked on Heroin and Meth. You've seen that horror story as they destroy themselves and everyone around them as they try to chase the original high.
You never know what will happen once you open Pandora's Box, but once you open it, there is no closing it. It's common sense really. Not many feel-good meth endings out there.

I smoked weed laced with PCP once back in the day. They called it KW back. I never did it again. I couldn't imagine doing something like crystal just to try it. People don't come back from that shite.

Smoking opium was it. Thank god I only did that for a short time in college. A buddy smuggled some back from India after Christmas break. That shite was unreal.

You aren't wrong, I'll bump some coke when me and my friends from college get together for our annual fantasy draft in whichever city we decide to have it in. I've also never met a girl who runs for the hills when blow is mentioned. If someone said meth, I'm sure it would be a completely different reaction.
FWIW, I've never seen meth or even heard it mentioned as like an actual option by any dealer I've ever dealt with. I do think it's somewhat a social class thing.

I've done it a few times, it made my skin feel nasty but I stayed up all night fishing.
Took me about a week to get right again, not sure if it was the meth or lack of sleep.

We had a lot of fun many years back, and out of the big group of us, only one ever took it too far and went down the addict road. I think I got lucky because speed wasn't my jam and opiates make me sick, so I mainly stuck to pot, booze, and hallucinogens. I used to hate getting ecstasy that was loaded up with BS speed. I could see the appeal of a benzo addiction, but ultimately I enjoy real life too much to completely turn my brain off like that. I believe drugs have their place in the human experience, but all in moderation.

That's why you mix them together. You get the great feeling the coke gives you and the crank masks the come down although temporarily. But then of course you now have a two drug habit which is more expensive.

I don't remember there being any methamphetamine around but maybe it was called something else
