cherry bombs, and M80s circa 1970. They weren't the pussy one's they put out now. Tie 4 of either one around a 20" diameter tree trunk, and that motherfricker was coming down.

I like the little bottle rockets. Could get a ton for cheap and were great for wars just hard to aim if you had to throw them.

Buying my first gross of bottle rockets was part of my education. My reply was, "Yea Mister, that'll be enough!"

We used pipes to shoot them. My brother and I shared one of those two piece bars that extended above the back seat of the car for hanging clothes. One end was open and the other was closed off. Hold it with the fuse hanging out, light it, tip it down in the pipe and aim it like a shotgun. Our scout troop split up and had teams that fought each other. Hard to believe the worst damage was burned clothes, and possibly some hearing losses.

When I was in junior high, some high school guys had M-80's that were powerful enough to blow toilets at the school to pieces. Everyone used to say they were like a 1/4 stick of dynamite.

If only you would have held some M-80s in your hands we could have been spared all this

The mailboxes on our street looked like things left over from a WWI artillery campaign.

Bottle rockets and real M80’s, not the sawdust-filled kind of later years.
