I was pretty athletic growing up and played pretty much every sport. I was never officially timed, but me and some friends got together and timed each other.

I was timed in the 4.6s, but since we were doing it ourselves it was probably closer to the 4.7s. I was more quick than fast, though.

On normal day 5.2ish. When being chased by the cops carrying an ice chest of beer in high school closer to 4.1!

4.7. I was a wing-t guard, and an outside linebacker.

4.88 was the best time I knew about. Hand timed so probably slower. It is what it is. I was a blocking wideout, it didn’t matter

Played LB OG

Younger bro was the athlete with a legit 4.4 & was starting QB & Safety at age 14 for his HS team

He was also doing the JR Rider dunk between his legs at that age as well

My fastest time was senior year highschool at the end of a 8 week
“ speed camp”
Played college baseball. Was considered fast in highschool.
“ decently quick” in college.

4.57 in the 40

I think 6.7 in the 60

I never could maintain that speed over time. I’m short, like 5’8” stocky legs . Issues with flexibility. Always had stride frequency. Could never maintain the stride length.

4.44 hand timed so probably 4.5 to 4.6 officially. Only white kid to run the 4x100 and 4x200 from sophomore year on at one of the largest schools in Mississippi. Best 100 was a wind aided 10.93. 11.26 was the best legal time. Best 200 also wind aided ended up at a 21.89. Best legal 200 was a 22.41. This was all 15-18 years ago. They’ve had state championship football and track teams since then. We were neither

Alvin Kamara ran a 4.59 at the combine. None of you are anywhere close to as fast as you think you were

4.9 at a football camp.

Was fairly happy with that as a 225 lb HS OT

Though it busted me with my coaches that I dogged it during conditioning sprints. I always just made sure I was ahead of at least half of the linemen, when I was actually the 2nd fastest

People saying times that would land them in the top 20 of the NFL Combine always give me a chuckle.

I knew several people who could run sub 4.5 40s. Doesn’t mean they were NFL caliber. Just like someone who body builds that can outlift a NFL Dlinenan can’t necessarily play that position.

Football is more than strength and speed. Its agility, toughness, mindset, vision, etc. It takes a lot of different areas to excel at to play at a college/NFL level. They put your body through pure hell with the workout schedules and diets. I went through it for college football. 40 yard dash is only a small part of it. We had a high school RB that ran a 4.4 but weighed about 135 lbs. That dude would have been murdered on a college field, hell he was murdered on a high school field fairly regularly his only chance was outrunning the defenders
