Routine Military training.

Route changed and publicized for PR to encourage frontline workers.

Training exercise. Anyone who complains about it is (quite literally) a sky screamer.

THe pilots need to log hours. It's why they allow flyovers for football. It's all about air time and experience. Need dem boys to stay sharp !

It was to provide a morale boost to health care workers and show them we appreciate what they are doing. It also was to show America that its Air Force is still open for business and ready to unleash some whoop arse if some dumb arse on the other side of the planet thinks it would be a good idea to "take advantage" of America being distracted.

Don’t hate freedom, but the cost could have benefitted way more on the frontlines.
It was cool tho, Murica!

I think they flew a B52 with the other jets. Was a practice run in case they have to carpet bomb Baton Rouge. Tough to fly a strange route with 300 bombs on board, begging to be dropped

Just kidding. They were giving the flyboys a free trip over Tiger Stadium and letting them do a practice run at a big chemical complex.

Boost morale, not necessarily only in the medical community, but everyone to some extent.

Sense of patriotism in hopes to remind everyone what we are sacrificing for.

the cost

The "cost" is covered in what's called the annual Flying Hour Program. Each wing is assigned a number of flying hours each year and all that cost is already paid for, so the "cost" or funds would have been spent even if these flyovers didn't occur.
