What was the Greatest Necessary Evil?

I feel like the greatest necessary evil in history is when the United States and the Allies had to ally with the Soviets in World War II. Stalin was a mass murderer and a lot of people would agree was a more brutal dictator than even Hitler himself.
However, the necessary evil allowed the Soviet Army to eliminate the Nazi threat in Europe, so it had to be done.
Can you think of another example where a necessary evil had to be done to achieve peace?

The Romans and the Jews killing Jesus…
If you think about it, it had to be done. No matter how bad you wished it wouldn’t have happened. With his Crucification the human race never had to make another sacrifice. After that single killing, all of mankind was granted forgiveness for all of their past and future sins. All you have to do is ask for it. That was the plan all along.
If you believe, then that has to be way up there.

Nah, in retrospect, we should’ve told Europe to go frick itself in both world wars.
Frankly, we shouldn’t have helped the Soviets one fricking bit. But FDR loved Uncle Joe and communism.

Voting for Biden. Not a fan but Trump was not fit for office. I will be doing it again.

Yeah, I don’t think a Nazi controlled Europe (with the exception of Russia, because the Nazi’s never had a chance of conquering Russia) would have been good for world peace.

Did you miss what came after our “victory”?

Oh yeah, how could we have made it any longer without pointless wars, a good economy and not having millions of illegals stream across the border.
The horror!

I’d go with something along the lines of God sacrificing his perfect Son for the Salvation and Reconciliation of all things to Himself.

Did you just call God evil?

I think he's saying the act was evil in an earthly sense.
But that was the greatest "bad event" that created the greatest result
