So you were about 12 or 13 when you signed up with TD? Not a dig, just curious.

More likely that he didn't move out of his parents house or atleast didn't live on his own without roommates until his mid twenties

No I lived in a house that I was fortunate enough to not have to pay rent for because it was purchased with cash when I was in college and law school (not my parents house). Continued to live in it for a year or so after that.

First time I rented an apartment was when I moved to Boston. And actually now that I think about it, it was 2013.

Our first apartment was just off Highland Road across from the fire station - rent then was $35.00 in today's dollars, $275.19.

This is my first one. $1057 per month in downtown Indianapolis, a city that thinks it's Chicago but isn't.

One bed one bath

My first apartment was in what is now called "University Towers" in Austin. Back in the 80's it was a dump going by the name of "TriTowers" and in bankruptcy.

I rented there for one summer, sharing a 4BR unit for the grand sum of $125 per month. According to the OP's link that's still less than $300 today.

But I'm still friends with two of the three roommates I met there so it was money well paid. And met a female resident on the rooftop who was interested in getting laid frequently so it was a very nice experience.

shite... I almost hate to say this, but it was $350. It was an absolute shithole next to LSU. The walls had zero insulation and were 1/8th inch drywall - you could easily put your finger through it. The A/C was only a window unit. My three neighbors were a drunk who managed to hit the building, more than once; an apartment that never kept a tenant more than a couple of months at a time; and the world's biggest pot head - he was in his late 40s, had already lost most of his teeth, and had aspirations of traveling Ireland while playing music.

But it was fricking cheap and I had some crazy good times there.
