Scruffy Jr. is better than Jayden.

I don't know what the stigma is...and I'm not trying to sound defensive...I just mean to say that in most cases people shouldn't be so quick to judge.

Bane of my existence. Can you delete that though. I would rather references to my name not be on here.

Np.

Figured there were enough names to keep it anonymous.

Aiden is actually a real name... it's an old Scottish name. A shame that it got bastardized by all the Gen X parents making derivations of it.

We named our son Jaxon and we love it.

So does every other white trash/Methamerica couple I see that has a baby with that name.

I've cared for several babies named Jaxon at the hospital in the past couple years....and the parents always looked white-trashy. Always.

I now know your first name is narrowed down to 1 of 2 names. I also know you are a resident. I will find you scruffy, I will find you.....

Same stigma as travel baseball parents.

Plenty of good ones, but enough bad ones to give the group a bad name.

You're right, but a lazy arse hiring manager is going to weed through applicants all sorts of ignorant ways. Whether it is fair or not, untraditional names may stick out for the wrong reasons.

I use to say this too. Until I got in a hiring position. It is bullshite for the most part. I look at experience, and then education. I honestly barely even notice their name.

No, it is a great traditional name. That is the point of my post.....

Ah, gotcha. Elizabeth is the traditional girl's name in my family. My mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother all had it as either their first or middle name.

Earl is the traditional male name in my family. Thankfully, that tradition will die with me. Yes, my middle name is Earl.

I think I have a subconscious negative attitude toward people with shitty names, and I'm sure I'm not the only person like that.

I guess the point is that it doesn't exactly help.

I used to work with a Jackson. I can say he probably wouldn't have been hired if he was a Jaxon. Is that fair? Hell no, but in that line of work it could have hindered confidence from clients. It was never my call, and I feel like a dick saying that, but unfortunately perception is reality sometimes.

If I had to do it over the Fut issues would all be binary

Good, It looks like people are starting to get back to the traditional/old school names. That -Ayden craze is one of the dumbest damn things I've heard.

So is Jaxon, Hudson and Hunter. And the stupid spelling of name is just as bad, i.e. Presleigh and Ceauxdy (Yes I know someone that spells it that way.)
