A neighbor kid got mechanical engineering at UF. He then decided to stay the extra year and get Aerospace. He flies f-18's right now, for the USMC.

There's gonna be a shite ton more jobs available than just engineering. I have a friend who's son got a tech school degree in electrical instrumentation or similar (not sure of the specifics.) After working in different plants around La and Ms, he took a job with SpaceX and does electrical work on the rocket gantry now.
There's basically a whole new city down there in Texas. The amount of peripheral job opportunities in that area is going to be astronomical.
