Then I would leave with no 2 week notice and tell them the reason why I am doing it. They didn't value me enough to pay me more, I don't value them enough to give them a heads up.

What's your compensation as compared to the industry?
Are you expecting a "standard" raise, just not an above average one? Or zero raise?
Is the promotion timing aligned with when raises are given, or is it off-schedule?

I have my answer..
No monetary compensation has been offered for the task of taking on more responsibility. I left the office for 30 minutes to gather myself and talk to someone I trust to steer me straight.
I got the same advice as the OT.
I am going to speak to my manager one more time and see if I can get him to see that this is unfair. If that fails I will call his immediate manager.

Going above your immediate manager almost never works unless its for something that is a fireable offense to your immediate manager, and this certainly is not.
No matter what the other manager says, your relationship with your immediate manager will then be trashed.
I wouldn't do shite. Either suck it up and keep working the job with the extra work, or start looking for a new job. I'd likely do both.
Also, you need to analyze how long this will be. If its just a short term thing for a year or so then just suck it up before you get another promotion or pay increase. If its likely long term then certainly re evaluate your long term future there.

If you do take it, bitch about the compensation, become friends with your superiors on LinkedIn, update your title, and open your profile to recruiters.

Yeah don’t do that. Just accept the promotion and look for a new job if you don’t want to continue working there. Your new title may get you better job offers.

Are you under some sort of government contract? Because it sounds like the kind of shite that companies that have contract relationships with government entities like the USPS used to do.....they call it reclassification and allows them to get away with shite

Do you have any reason to believe this would be productive or at least not destructive? Do you know him well or is that a fairly typical protocol? Because generally that’s considered taking a shot across the bow.

Yeah probably not the best call. Your mgr is probably getting direction from his mgr, so not gonna go anywhere, other than your mgr getting giving you the "I sent you" look from now on.
Sit with your HR person, and discuss it to make sure you understand how it works, etc. They will then know your concern, and how you are expected to do more and produce without a known compensation...monetary or not. you are trying to grasp how this benefits you into the future.
Then start being open to talking to other companies, but dont be shopping hard since you have little time in the position.
The no 2 weeks notice move is good, but definitely make sure you arent going to be wanting to come asking for your job again.

Do what you have to do for now but start looking for another job. When you get another offer just resign with no notice. Frick these companies that do this to employees. They don’t value you and are willing to risk you leaving to get more productivity for the same cost.
