Go to the office ASAP and have them come to the apartment. Show them how your stuff has already been tainted. Ask to be relocated to another unit or refunded.

In college I looked at an apartment in a complex where there were a lot of Indian grad students, and we could barely stand the curry smell just walking into the vacant unit.

Curry is the meth of foods; the smell never goes away.

Had no idea this could become such a lingering problem. Curry tastes good, but I wouldn't want it as a permanent house guest.

While at LSU I worked for an apartment complex for a few years in order to earn money for school.

We used to frequently deal with this problem. Basically, you have to nuke the apartment in order to get rid of the smell. Rip up the carpet, seal the slab with Thompson's water seal, repaint the walls/ceilings, change air filters, use industrial strength air freshener for about a week, wipe down everything with heavy duty cleaners, etc.

I would check your lease agreement for an out....I just don't recall general lease terms.

Had that shite with an apartment in college. Added bonus of chasing all the roaches from that apartment into ours.

I had a bunch of Indians living next to me, last year. They were extremely nasty and I about puked everytime I walked past their apartment. I lined the wall in between my apartment and theirs with glade plugins and that helped alot.

Use to manage an apartment complex and that shite is real.

The main place the smell stuck was the walls and carpet. Unless you primed the wall and repainted and replaced the carpet, that smell will not completely go away. You can mask it but it will be temporary

Sucks man. Have the complex replace carpet if you can. It sucks and will be a pain but will be worth jt

Did you work at the apartments on July Street? Can't remember the name now, but we lived there and the whole complex always smelled like Indian food. We called it Indian Village because of the high number of Indian grad students. They would have like 8 people in a two-bedroom apartment and cook up some mean smelling food. I love Indian food, so it never really bothered me all that much.

Have fun with that.

Used to be a huge pain to get those apartments ready. New paint and carpet cleaning helped some. I would say get your carpet steamed again and they can also deodorize, but if they are still right next door it will keep happening.

Have fun with that.

My neighbors in grad school (not LSU) had 6 ppl in a 2 bedroom. They used to cook with curry, not bathe, and have parties every weekend. The arabs that lived there before were much better. All they (the arabs) did was smoke weed.

or place bowls of vinegar around the apartment...used this old method when wife burned something on stove to get the smoke smell out of the house.
