3-4. One family member works 3rd so we try to give them the opportunity to get some sleep.

I have never heard of anyone eating Thanksgiving that late. That’s bizarre. Our family is in the 2-3pm group.

Arrive about 5 pm and eat about 6 pm. There are kids who go to in-laws early morning to noonish or so. Lots of the guys play golf together since the out of towners arrive in the morning sometimes. Lots of small children who nap in the afternoons. We are all happier when the little people have had naps. We decided to have the meal at night years ago, so people wouldn't have to pick between family and in-laws or rotate years. Everyone gets to be together and everyone is happy that way. The immediate family is almost 30 people with lots of kids. You just work it out the way that works best for you and your family. The point is to be together.

4-6pm. It's called Thanksgiving dinner, not Thanksgiving lunch. How the frick do you eat at 11? Aren't you hungry again at 7 or 8?

Is your BIL Italian? Italians are known for eating late.

My BIL is always trying to get us to eat at night, damn near 8pm before we get started

Your BIL is a psychopath. Anyone in my family who wants to wait until 8 pm to eat is more than welcome to, just know you'll be picking at the scraps of whatever leftovers are behind.

I prefer around 2-3.

My girlfriend's family is Puerto Rican and they always eat Thanksgiving and Christmas around 6.

Don't really like it but do prefer it to eating way too early for a big meal at noon.
