What sort of Uber driver do you prefer?

I’m sure most people will say the quiet ones, and that also really depends on the drivers.
But I like the kinda old, kinda curmudgeonly drivers who know the city better than the back of their hand and can pinpoint the years that certain events happened going back decades. Always feel like I learn something from them.

My favorite driver ever was old guy in New Orleans. We started talking baseball then he asked me to grab a picture from behind his seat. Apparently he played baseball for the Braves back in the day and was at spring training with Hank Aaron among others. Was one of the best conversations I've had in an Uber/Lyft.

Have you ever gotten an attractive Uber driver. I did one time. Once. She was a hot Hispanic chick with the deepest south side Chicago accent you could imagine and you could tell she was a lot of fun, but maybe too much fun.

At this point, one that can follow the directions on their own GPS and seem like they've been driving in Houston for more than a week.
I also prefer that they finish their self flagellation in their own home and not in their car just prior to picking me up. I blame Owlie for this one.

I prefer Americans who speak English and have driven in the city for more than a week.

I literally had a guy in Chicago who had a sign saying he couldn't speak english. When I tried to say something to him, he pointed to the sign.
I saw his GPS was entirely in chinese or japanese or something. He drove a minivan and got lost.

In Nola you are starting to get a lot of shite arse former yellow cabs/United cabs with decals ripped off the exterior. The vehicles have torn seating, smell like smoke and the driver usually has awful BO. I wish Uber would crack down on these assholes.

Back in the day, Uber black used to not have multipliers on it.
Depending on the time, you could be picked up in a merc by a literal driver for cheaper than some kid in a prius.
My favorite were the young Arab guys in Houston. 100% professional. Wore a suit. It was clear it was all business.
Impressed more than a few people with that service.

My first Uber expirence in DC was like this. Now I get Jazmine in her 12 year old Mazda 3 with McDonald French fries scattered across the seat and a baby car seat still in tact in the middle. The best is when they light up a cig.
