Typing... Most useful class I ever took in high school

I learned how to sew in the 7th grade. Now that I'm retired it is a wonderful hobby for me. Also learned hand embroidery, but now do machine embroidery.

How to read and write. Was always a decent speaker from communicating growing up, but could never put that down on paper.

My mom said the same thing but I convinced her the upcoming utility of it.

I also learned how bad American humour is.

Seems like typing would be hard to learn in midlife.
I grew up at a time when the typing tutor on the old PC was like a fun video game to me

I learned to play two musical instruments. I got pretty good.

My Grandmother taught me how to sew a button on younger than that, accompanied by tirades about useless men.
Basic skills not learned by men, turn them into "happy wife, happy life," sycophants.

Typing. Figured I would need it when they were predicting everyone having home computers eventually. Most useful class I ever took in high school.
Don’t think I would have learned it as well as an adult
Same…

Played the trumpet from the 4th grade through a trumpet performance major at LSU. Stopped playing after that. Something I never would have done as an adult.

You asked the question. Only the coolest bros could gleak. If you couldn’t gleak, you were the one getting gleaked on.

I say I love all of you and I only get 2 up votes?

The more adult meet and interact with everyday, the more I realize what the answer to your question is (sadly): the ability to read out loud/speak in public.
The amount of adults that struggle to do these two simple things is unbelievable. It's painful for me to listen to someone stumble through reading a passage out loud because they never learned how to read ahead of what is currently being said out loud, resulting in a smooth flow of dictation.
Public speaking too. This needs to be taught in middle school and continued in high school. Nobody knows how to enunciate and project when they speak. Public speaking classes build confidence, which results in less mumbling during social encounters.

I don't know if it was nurture or nature but I've always been mechanically inclined and I figured out I could remove the bedroom doorhandles and reverse them.
However, as an adult....I was gonna say I would never do this to kids and I'd only do this to friends but fricking with kids is still fun.
I can't wait until I have grandkids.
