Chris Rock said it best:

Men are only as faithful as their options.

Depends on the subject group. A typical fat arse of the OT is never going to get to cheat because women will never look his way.

Some guy who keeps himself in shape and has his shite together will have options so will more than likely cheat.

Its the same principal with women.

There is a reason why men and women business travelers spend all their evenings in the hotel bar.

one study years ago showed that % of women with kids from men who were not their husbands was the same in 1920's as in the 2000's.

That’s hard to believe given the availability and attitudes about contraceptives between those two eras, but I’d believe the desire was the same.

What happened right before the 1920s that may have skewed those numbers? World War 1 and the Spanish Flu. I'm thinking a large number of those in the 20's were widows who remaried.

As Bill Clinton said, it all depends on what your definition of sex is!

And probably if you're married to a Hillary.

Have to define cheating also. Is this an illegal penis/vagina connection or does emotional cheating count? It sounds like the penetration number to me.

If i told my wife i made out with another woman, someone we both knew about like a single mom from school or work, but didn't have any kind of sexual contact with her, she'd consider that cheating and be pissed.
If i was getting a massage in say Mexico at a nice resort, and they offered to give me a happy ending, with my wife in the room, she'd probably say might as well so i don't have to do it.

I don't know what emotional cheating is, but i'd say my first example would be that, and she'd be just as pissed about that as getting a handjob or blowjob from some random bar slut.

35.0% may be legit

Did you add 20% men to 15% women? If so, yikes!

Assuming a 50% split between men and women (nowadays who knows) that would be 17.5%.

In my household, it’s either zero or fifty. I can never be quite sure.

Well, yeah.

That doesn’t mean 100% will act on it. Grass is always greener.

Its a numbers game. With enough opportunity, most halfway attractive people will eventually fold.

emotional cheating in my eyes is just as bad or worse as the physical cheating. it is a true sign of betrayal because there is a perceived connection that has taken place and continues.

most women have to have the emotional to get physical.

most men have to have the physical to get emotional.

Are we talking physical cheating only or emotional cheating? Because I think that number is pretty high, especially in the day and age of texting, DMs, etc.

in today's world, i agree with you. i think emotional cheating with texts, pics, snaps, etc. are probably at an all-time high. i think many think nothing of it, but this is how relationships outside of the existing relationship start and happen.

while alcohol can certainly help enhance a bad decision or make it worse, my point is that no one would do this even if alcohol was involved if their core belief is their existing relationship is solid ground. this is true especially if someone has strong beliefs and values.
