You are supposed to brush last. When you brush, you give your teeth a fluoride treatment. Washing afterward reduces its effectiveness.
Floss, Mouthwash, Brush (last)

I have been dry brushing then TP or MW. I read that toothpaste deposits fluoride into your teeth, and if your teeth are dirty it might pull in contaminants with it.
Here is a article about a study supporting the practice LINK
But also studies saying mouthwash cancels out the benefit of exersize. LINK
So who knows what’s right.

as an aside, my dentist once said, "you only have to floss the teeth you want to keep".
I spent over 40 years of my life without flossing. Still have all my teeth, and never had a cavity. But now I waterpik nightly because I’m amazed at the stuff that comes out AFTER brushing.

Normally Brush, Floss, Rinse, Mouthwash
Unless there are some big chunks stuck in there then floss first

I use mouthwash first. My thought is that I don’t want any bacteria introduced into my bloodstream from flossing (which I do second) or brushing (third).

Mouthwash in some order before brushing. You don't wash your mouth out after brushing because you want the fluoride in your mouth for your teeth. Just spit out extra and keep rest of paste in.

Yup.

To maximize the beneficial cavity-fighting effect of fluoride, spit out excess toothpaste but do not rinse your mouth. In addition, try to avoid eating or drinking for 10 minutes or more after you finish brushing.

Dentists say it’s good to let the fluoridated toothpaste set in your teeth for a few minutes regardless if you do decide you want to rinse with water or not. While rinsing doesn’t harm you, it prevents the toothpaste from working to its best ability.
All day kid.
