re: Does Best Buy still let people take boxes from outside? Or Office Depot?
Posted by kenna bra on 10/16/25 at 8:57 pm to berrycajun
Maybe the post office? From my understanding they give the boxes away, expecting to make the money back when you ship the package(s).
Who tf downvotes this? Celebrating our heroes, many of whom are unsung? Recognizing these heroics?
You don’t deserve this country. Please self deport to N Korea.

Reading this broke my heart and brought back a flood of memories. I initially had 40/60. I admittedly did some dumb stuff one night and was reduced to supervised visitation. That hit me like a truck. I got my act together and put my kid above absolutely everything else. Killed her with kindness even when she ripped the child from my arms and called the police on me for not taking him to a birthday party because my mom was in town and he wanted to see his grandmother. I ate the crap sandwich for years. Eventually got to 50/50 because of a change in her job. 10 years later, he would prefer to be with me. He declines to go on vacation with her and takes that entire time with me. His eyes are open. He makes remarks about her now that I never would have (but damn sure wanted to) because he sees the full picture.
Admitted I did have some demons to battle. But my focus on him has been unwavering and it’s obvious to him. I saw similar patterns in our stories (my needing to grow up a bit being an exception).
Hang in there. Fight like hell. Take every bite of that sandwich with a smile, knowing you’ve their best interest at heart. It might take years for the fruit to be harvested, but keep planting the seeds, tilling the soil, and putting the work in. It will eventually pay off. Your kids deserve the best dad they can get from you.
I’m sorry that I don’t have a BR recommendation. But I wanted to encourage you, especially when I had felt so hopeless in similar shoes.

Looks like a Glock switch mod around 9-10 seconds. I thought those were illegal?
Lingerie section of Sears catalogue. Victorias Secret catalogue if I was lucky.

They can keep their family together. In their country of origin.
My .02. I won’t ever vote favorable for a property tax. If the government can come take your land and sell it, then you don’t actually own it. That just grates me. It also allows people without skin in the game to increase my tax burden.

Recently divorced. A friend had stopped by. I went to bed as they walked out the door. They grabbed a pop tart on their way out without me knowing.
That was my son’s breakfast. I had nothing else and couldn’t afford to swing in at McDonald’s and get a biscuit or anything. He went to daycare hungry.
I cried uncontrollably for a good 10 minutes in the parking lot after dropping him off.

This is at least part of the reason our country is so far in the hole. We can’t take care of the entire world. Our system has been taken advantage of for far too long.
IMO, she shouldn’t be a citizen in the first place. If my parents broke into Disney with me and my siblings, they wouldn’t kick my parents out and allow us to stay. We go too. No fault of our own, but our parents broke the rules.
We’ll see what SCOTUS says soon, I hope.
I’m not feeding my neighbors kids before my own. But apparently I actually am with what I paid in taxes for 2024. I’ve no sympathy.

With the level of gross mismanagement being so rampant, absolutely not. A scalpel would only have shown us surface level. There’s a reason Milei presented a chainsaw to Musk.

I’ve got a sock in my truck that would cost me over a quarter mil if I lived in MS.

There are a few that are restricted to mil personnel or special licensees.
I’m not saying you’re incorrect but I’ve not come across any. Including MK-211/raoufoss and SLAP rounds. They’re on gunbroker from time to time. Pricey, yes. $75-100 a round.

Can you just buy 50 cal ammo anywhere or does it require a special license?
.50 is legal for civilians. No special license required.
How did she get to the second eye???? Seems like after the first one, your body’s response would clue you in.

What street had a 20 MPH limit?
I’m pretty sure Henry Clay leading to Children’s Hosptial in NO is 20 mph. I got a traffic cam ticket there one night going in to doing an emergent procedure. That street is garbage. I didn’t want to go 40, probably screwed up my car’s suspension.
I attempted to contest it. Submitted my procedure reports, including the dates and times. Provided hospital contacts for confirmation. I never got a response.
I paid just to keep it from dinging my credit. It was my understanding that they will file nonpayment against your credit.

The lady had a walker. She was probably old and/or partially disabled.
Holy cow. I didn’t think it could be worse, but it is.

She probably wore the pants in the first place
Apparently she wasn’t wearing them for too long though.
I grew up on a dairy. Dirt poor but drank about a gallon raw unpasteurized milk every day until 14. I’ve never broken a bone in my life. I called into work one day in 20 years.
Because I got in an accident on the way to work and my car could no longer get me there.
My anecdotal experience. I wish I had ready access to it again.

I’m printing this on business cards and putting it under random windshield wipers at the grocery store.
