Don’t really loathe it but I did listen to a lot of Lawrence Welk as a child.

My dad would listen to nothing but old school rock and roll, but my mom would listen to Celine Dion, Madonna, Cher, and Shania Twain all day.

Yeah...the Stones, John Cash, CCR, Jeanie C Riley, Elvis were all soooooo horrible...not.

My only complaint about my parents music listening is they weren't very diverse (unlike myself).

My wife's parents were hippies. Her dad had a wall of vinyl. She knows everything from the 60's and 70's and went to a bunch of concerts with them.

In my Dad's business I worked in as a teenager (mid-70's) they played country music radio all day. I wasn't necessarily into that music at the time but I sure as hell appreciate now.

Not all parents are blah.

My mom and day both had pretty good taste in music. The only stuff I didn’t really like, and still don’t like, is the disco era crap. KC and the sunshine band. The Bee Gees. shite sucks.

My parents were Fleetwood Mac, Eagles, Zeppelin, and later AC/DC fans.

My mom's (68) favorite band is Fleetwood Mac, which is also my daughter's (22) favorite band.

Got lucky.

Dad was a musician who listened to a ton of Tower of Power, James Brown, Chicago, Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire and Steely Dan.

Mom loved Otis Redding, Roberta Flack, Grand Funk......

Dad liked big band music and I would have to listen to it all the time on the road. I hated it then, but what i wouldn't give to listen to it with him now. On the reverse. My mom hated it when I would play Kashmir over and over.

My parents had great taste in music and i liked it all. I’m older but my parents always listened to music on Sunday’s and I have fond memories of Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, Duke Elllington, Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughn, Ella Fitzgerald. Those are the ones I remember.

My dad liked Tennessee Ernie Ford on Sunday’s. The 33’s were stacked up on the turntable and I can remember like it was yesterday. I wish I hadn’t been so stupid and had kept those 33 LP’s. I remember throwing them all away.

Roast and rice and gravy for lunch with green peas.

I remember when Herb Alpert hit the scene and my dad was like….light weight, no talent. It was new, latin music and my dad wasn’t too fond of it.

So I loved my parents music and I could see how it inspired folks like Chuck Berry, Elvis and the other early Rock and Roll stars.

my family music memories are very positive.
my mom liked big band music of 30s and 40s.
I have it as a setting in the car on xm.
great to this day.
she liked Elvis and bought and played his records. Elvis had a great voice.
I sometimes check out Elvis on xm Sirius. he has a regular station.
my grandfather liked opera. I listened. I like some opera. I sometimes listen. I recently found a compilation of a dozen performances of one song from Carmen. cool to see how they played the sultry sexpot.

my father never showed any interest in popular music.
he was a vaudeville performer before ww2.
sang and danced.
great tenor voice. he sometimes sang after dinner.
side trip:
my parents competed in ballroom dancing and won.
both in tip top shape.
my middle sister also competed in dancing and won.
both sisters sang.

the marvel of high def recordings has been a wonder. I hear lyrics and music I never knew. YAY Sirius xm.
I've got it in the house and car.

as most of you know you can project from your cell phone to your smart tv.
I do that with music. my tv sound system is 100x my phone.

Mine never played bad music. We had a full size jukebox in the living room backin the 1960s and beyond . Therefore, i had one helluva rocking childhood.

We were allowed to play the jukebox whenever we pleased and carefully typed out and placed the little labels that went by the buttons to show the song and artists.
