Patsy Cline and Roy Orbison on repeat as we drove hundreds of miles through the New Mexico desert while my mother chain-smoked Virginia Slims.

My parents gave me music that I still enjoy. Willie and Merle haggard. George jones, Kenny Rogers, Elvis, Conway Twitty and Roy Orbison. Also add Ronnie Milsap and Waylon Jennings.

My parents listened to awesome music.

The Eagles. Easily the most overrated American band in my opinion. I can’t stand them even while liking almost all other music my parents listened to.

Saturday evenings were spent watching this….
For those too young to remember The Lawrence Welk Show, it was even worse than it looks.

My Mom and Dad had tickets to the Skynrd show in BR. They actually heard about the plane crash from my grandparents who were visiting family in McComb a few miles from the crash site. My Dad freaked out when 10 yr old me wore this t-shirt over my pads to football practice. Obviously, I have nothing to complain about as it pertains to your thread.

My parents dragged me to a hard core baptist church 3 times a week. You'd think I'd hate your typical hymns but any time I'm at a service I genuinely enjoy hearing that music.

Mom loved Jeannette McDonald (an operetta singer). Dad hated it.

None. My parents listened to good music. Or I was brain washed into liking it.

My mom would play that shite on long car rides, till I destroyed the cassette tape in retaliation for throwing away my cassette tapes. She also listened to a lot of Bon Jovi, prince, heart, reo speedwagon, 2 live crew
One of these things is not like the others......

Every weekend my parents would have Laurence Welk playing at max volume - its like audio torture to me even to this day.

Buddy Holly, Supremes, mammas and papas, etc. mostly 50’s and 60’s pop stuff. When I found nat king cole, ray charles, Ottis Redding etc. later in life I was pretty pissed she subjected me to am radio.

My parents listened to late 60’s/early 70’s rock. The Moody Blues was their bread and butter. They liked quality stuff but not quite my preference.
