That moron is the one who pays his/her employees so low that unemployment is more lucrative.
So everyone should be paid at least $800 a week regardless of hours worked or duties?

The Marxist generally believe it takes away profits from the wealthy, but that's because they learned economics from a philosopher.
If you exponentially raise the min wage for the lowest paid workers, they will have fewer jobs.

forgiven, but now their employees don’t want to come back to work because they earn more not doing shite. Now said employers may not get loan forgiven, what a clusterfrick!

And here I thought the intention of PPP was to incentivize business owners to reopen and put staff back to work despite reduced revenue due to the shutdowns. I never realized that it was just a windfall profit, and that things were business-as-usual otherwise. Learn something new every day!

Also, if these companies paid a living wage, people would be more willing to go back to work. But nooopppeeee, we let employers pay $7.25/hr, even less to servers, and then are SHOCKED and APPALLED that people wouldn't willingly go back to earn those shite wages when the government is literally paying them more to sit on their asses.
My company is having trouble getting $18/hr employees to come back to work. You going to tell me $18/hr isn’t a living wage?

None of you dumb motherfrickers understand the real reason behind the extra 600.
It's ultimately about keeping some amount of money flowing in the economy, period. That extra 600 keeps the wider economy at least having some support instead of having nothing being spent and massively lessens the longer term effects of, say, Louisiana's pittance of 247 being the only amount someone can put into the system.
It's not about benefiting certain people. It's about keeping a steady, if marginal, amount of economic stability.

Or, you know, we could not add trillions to the national debt and open the economy back up instead.
But nah. Where's the opportunity for abuse and graft in that?

Senators and congressmen that had no clue how little some states paid in unemployment

36k/year pre-tax? You're on the edge

The median household income in Louisiana is $48k.
Individuals are being paid ~8% less than the median household income in Louisiana to stay home. If two members of a household collect unemployment benefits, it’s the equivalent of a ~$90k/year household income.
The breakeven point with the current unemployment benefits is over $21/hr. That’s more than my wife made as an RN fresh out of college. Then you have to consider the fact that breaking even is not really enough when the alternative doesn’t require any actual work.
Anyone who thinks entry-level, unskilled jobs in Louisiana should be paying $20/hr+ is either lying or living in a fantasy land.

Have you been bitching about the trillions of dollars being added to the debt from that tax cut right after he took office?
If the answer is no, you're a hypocrite.

It is at our plant, many are over 58 ish and aren't returning. Even though they are losing a little bit, they don't have to union dues.

And you're a fricking moron if you equate letting people keep more of their money equates to people being payed to not work because of a virus that doesn't effect 99% of the population.
ETA: And for the record, I was quite vocal about the tax cuts happening in line with equal cuts in government spending.
But that idea was tried and shite-canned by the usual suspects in Congress, of both parties.

I didn't say 36k was not a livable wage. But it's close.
