A major downside of Texas are the religious whacko cults (Branch Dividians, Aggies, etc.)

Nashville is TN’s only redeeming city. I lived in franklin for 3 years and would move back. Memphis is shite and Knoxville is a great college town. Texas’ 4 major cities are all on par or above Nashville in schools, economy, housing market, crime

You're right about Nashville but Chattanooga is also a great place to live. I've lived in 4 states (3 other than Tennessee when I was growing up) and some nice places, and Chattanooga is my favorite thus far.
Knoxville sucks. Memphis sucks.

I moved here from Louisiana and for me personally it’s about high paying jobs, no state income tax, good roads, good housing, relatively low cost of living, and the fact that you can find just about everything you want minus a snow skiing resort.
