I'm in software development and I don't like any of those people. Bunch of Neo-from-The-Matrix wannabes.

hmmm. not necessarily, but i could see why there would be separation. i work for a very large, very mature IT organization and cybersec is still under the IT umbrella.

My wife works for a logistics company that handles lots of pharmaceutical development, and her workload was up 20% or more.

Clinics are slowly starting to fill again around here.
My partners cosmetic side is about to be full boom again. Social distancing has given the perfect excuse to have your nose job or face lifts.

All of the bicycle shops in Lafayette have been packed and pretty much sold out of everything. Those guys are killing it.

Courts, for one.
I think it's up to August now before a jury trial will occur in the state of Louisiana.
Are the employees still getting paid?

On a side note.
What line of work are you in exactly if you don't mind me asking?

Having met some of his coworkers, there's definitely some of those.

Given some of the bitching I've heard over software that gets developed without security consideration by some developers, that feeling is probably mutual.

Transportation has really picked up for us the past 2 months
When this started in early Feb truck prices skyrocketed, shite now that all these places have shutdown these truckers are needing freight bad, the market is flooded with trucks but not enough shippers and receivers open. I've doubled my profit margins

The bike industry including both manufacturers and local stores was in a years long death spiral, but have been completely saved by the pandemic. Stores are posting their best quarters ever.

Is your entire organization IT?
I'm talking the big financial, healthcare, etc. companies. There is a clear delineation between cybersecurity and IT, and there are a myriad of reasons for this...which is why it's considered best practice.

We do date center infrastructure work and low voltage cabling. We've been very busy up until this week and are starting to see pree COVID-19 projects that we bid starting to be awarded. There's been little to no slowdown for us (knocks on wood).

I assume so.
That's not what the OP asked though. The question is what line of work is still working their normal hours. Tons of government employees are not working their normal hours through all this, so to say that "government" is the best answer to this question is very wrong.

Uhh, yeah they have. PPG laid off 50+ in LC. Firestone had lay offs. I'm sure there are others.

Well stop creating shitty buggy code that a hacker can drive a truck through and you won't have to worry about them.

I took it as OP was asking which line of work was steady in that they were still employed and being paid.
In which case government is certainly the best answer, seeing as how they're employed and being paid to stay at home.
