What landmines can you leave behind for bad people to trigger?

God use to punish bad people, but he's been on vacation for a while now, so to make the world a better place to live, bad people need to be punished as an example to others not to stray into the wrong territory.
Like leaving something behind in the company refrigerator that if someone else eats will make them violently ill. Having things like this happen will remind those close to the edge of food theft that there may be severe consequences for over stepping.
What other common slights can be combated with traps?

Yeah, you can't booby trap your own home against thieves because "what if there's a fire, and the trap goes off on a firefighter"....but it's okay to empty a clip in a thief if you are there.
So you have to put yourself in harms way before you can punish a person for breaking into your home? Seems wrong.
