If you're confident in handling it, then knock yourself out. But definitely remove it.

Pretty rare to come across a venomous snake in LA. So that's cool.

I've moved the little guy/gal. It was pretty docile. Thanks everyone.

Here's a closeup.

Venom from copperheads is not deadly, and when people die from copperhead snake bites it is due to an allergic reaction. People who are weak or either very old or very young may experience a significant impact on their body functions from a copperhead snake bite.
The copperhead injects its venom through ducts in its fangs. Its venom disrupts the red blood cells of its prey that in turn becomes completely subdued.

Death is definitely not imminent. But you will wish you're dead, bc dat shite gonna hurt like a mother fricker.

Die? No. Damn near lose a hand? Yes. I've seen some nasty copperhead bites from people walking barefoot. Had to slice their foot to relieve pressure due to swelling.

Have you tried asking it nicely?

When my uncle got bitten on the ankle by a copperhead his entire leg swelled to 3x its normal size and turned purple and black.. He survived but, but endured weeks of miserable existence

That's his problem. You won't catch me getting near a copperhead.

My advice is a shovel to the neck for copperheads, rattlesnakes, and water moccasins.

It's a copperhead. They are low end venomous and very timid. They aren't the type that will come at you or be aggressive.
