Pretty rare to come across a venomous snake in LA. So that's cool.

WTF? Water moccasins are the third largest voting block in the state.

frick that snake. I'm the dominant predator. I would grab it and throw it against a wall like a 100 mph fast ball

Y'all don't know how to identify snakes apparently. It's cool though.

I'll give you 2 weeks to bump this thread with a pic of a cottonmouth.

Die? No. Damn near lose a hand? Yes. I've seen some nasty copperhead bites from people walking barefoot. Had to slice their foot to relieve pressure due to swelling.

Never been bit but I've been told by several people that the fever dreams that accompany a snake bite are as bad the pain.

Strip it and bring it to the scrap yard. Copper is high dollar nowadays.

This is a copperhead that was killed in my pasture two days ago.

This is a cottonmouth my little cousin killed in my woods/lake behind my house.

Fair enough.

I can't get a bead on the cottonmouth, but I'll take your word for it. I grew up in a heavily snake populated area and saw a lot of mis identification... so I'm always skeptical.

It's still not common to come across a moccasin or copper... but for checking me.

It's been bad since I was a little kid. Our neighbors had a ton of animals growing up and many died due to poisonous snake bites. It's a miracle me and my friends never got bit. I would say 3/4 of all the snakes I run across are poisonous.

I am sure the rodents are kept in check with that thing on the loose but the collateral damage is not worth it. A kill here is acceptable.
