Longest for me was Boston to New York. Cost was $17 and wasn’t terrible

14 hours on a yellow school bus for a votech forestry class field trip for a week. My teacher was on diuretics so 30 minute piss breaks were mandatory on top of the 57 mph top speed.
It wasn't bad at the time because it was a bus full of buddies, I would seppeku myself if faced with that trip now.

Spanish class trip to Mexico City during the X-Mas holidays my senior year. Left around 5am got to Mexico City around noon the next day. Had to change buses at the border. Told my mom there were chickens and pigs running up and down the aisles on the Mexican bus, lol. Great trip.

Ft. Huachuca, Arizona area to San Antonio. Very boring ride, only excitement that happened was wen the bus was stopped by Immigration and they took a few people off.

Had to drive 5 hrs way out in western NC for a HS playoff game.
My HS was 75% black- think Lean on Me the movie. Should've had all types of athletes on the field, but this was in the early 90s.
We played some mountain team that ran the 1940s box formation of Notre Dame... in 36 degrees and raining.
My black teammates were freaking the F out on the way up there... never been to the mountains... so country white folks and heights scared the living shite out of them.
We lost.. never had a chance on winning.
It was a brutal ride home too, as the weather got colder and we were worried about sliding off the mountain.

Back and forth on Greyhound NC to LSU a couple times.
On one leg, a guy sat next to me for a few hours. Said he was traveling from CA to GA to visit a dying friend in hospital. At a station, they had everyone get off as usual and when we came back 15-20 mins later cops and a dog were at the bus. They asked who owned the duffle he had stashed above our seats. They seized it but dude had disappeared into the night.
