Most any plane with a round engine and a tail wheel. Beechcrafts, Wacos, Stearmans, Cessnas and such is what I seek out at airports or airshows.

quote:MIG 25 was designed and built to catch them, never did.
Its stealthy design reduced its radar signature, and if it were fired upon by a surface-to-air missile, its evasive action was to simply accelerate and outfly the assailant.

Toss-up between the Phantom and the Tomcat. Both were in service when I was in. Broke my heart the first time I saw the Tomcats painted drab gray.

F-14 Tomcat because I've never seen an opening scene in a movie like that. Some movies have tried to copy it, but they all fall short. Over 30 years later and that movie and that plane are truly timeless.

At 6'5" I prefer the ones I can stand up in without hitting my head.

I remember the first time I saw an F-14 in person. It was shocking how huge it was.

Mine is a little different, the C-141. Took the most interesting flight of my life on one so I have a soft spot for them.

Probably the Aeronca Champ. The Piper J3 is prettier, but not a fan of having to solo from the back seat.
