Same man. History is such an interesting topic and it really puts today's world to perspective. We have it so good compared to people of past.
Not sure I really have a favorite historical moment or figure, but a few that have always stood out to me are George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Teddy Roosevelt. Washington especially since he set the tradition for presidential terms before it was put into law through the ratification of the 22nd Amendment. I always found it cool that, while he fought against monarchy, he accepted a position of power that could have easily turned into another monarchy.
I also find it pretty weird how John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, two founding fathers of our country and political rivals, died on the exact same day, July 4th, 1826. Weird enough that they passed on the same day but on the 4th of July no less.

I think he was one of the last generals to be up and close to the action. I don't remember but he started shooting at a plane with his pistol out in the open. I believe he is one of the best field generals in American history.
Another general I liked was Stonewall Jackson. Very strict and taught at West Point.

#1 has to be Thomas Jefferson, and then probably Patrick Henry. More recently though, Winston Churchill, Ronald Regan, and Margaret Thatcher.

My favorite period of history to study is World War II and the era between the two world wars. This would be followed by the Civil War. At present my favorite historical figure is Winston Churchill. I also have a strong interest in Huey Long. Not for his politics but he is such an interesting character. I also find FDR to be a strange duck. People loved him but if you really listen to his speeches, the man was dangerous. Fascinating stuff to me.

I watched a documentary on Teddy Roosevelt on PBS a few years ago.I didn't realize what a badass that little dude was.

Wow, talk about a deja vu moment! What are the chances I stumble across this post & just watched a full documentary of his life last night on Newsmax. Never knew he was dyslexic & he had to make up his plebe year at West Point because his academic performance was so poor. Obviously was before anyone even had the idea of dyslexia & the obstacles he and his father went through just to earn an appointment at West Point as he was originally resigned to VMI. I’ve always been fascinated by his belief in reincarnation and he knew his place in history and wasn’t going to let anything stand in his way of claiming what was rightfully his.
