On August 25, 1814, a massive storm hit British troops during their burning of Washington DC. Some later called it a giant tornado but the storm lasted over 2 hours, killed a few redcoats, devastated their troops and saved the city.

Ghengis Khan and the Mongols were pretty legit. I like to think about how hard of a life it must have been to be born in that moment in time in that part of the world to a clan of nomadic warriors. I mean, I can't really wrap my head around what type of a badass person could grow up like that and thrive in that kid of environment.
Really, that goes for anyone throughout history up until maybe 300-400 years ago. Even after that in some places. But, when I get to thinking about people living throughout history, it really makes me appreciate how damn good I do have it now.

In today's politically correct military, Patton would not have made past the rank of captain if he got that far.
I miss the old hard asses like him. He would have definitely told D.C. to shove it up their asses the way they utilize the military as the world police.
Some of my favorite quotes are from him:

A good plan violently executed right now is far better than a perfect plan executed next week.
If everyone is thinking alike, then somebody isn't thinking.
