What is your favorite historical moment or who is your favorite historical figure?

I know there are some history nerds on here and I always like seeing some of you comment interesting facts.
I have been researching some of the monuments that have been taken down. It started with me trying to figure out what made them so bad and now I’ve gone down a History rabbit hole.
I wish I would have taken history classes a lot more serious than I did. I enjoy it now, hated it then.

Alexander the Great conquering most of the known world in his 20s is probably tops for me. Rasputin's hold over the Russian royal family and the events surrounding his death are fascinating as well.

I’ve read numerous books about WW2 but that’s the only war history that ever interested me much.Reading a good book now-The Bomber Boys.Amazing number of the pilots were only about 21,most of the crew were still in their teens.
I guess what piques my interest is that my dad and several uncles plus numerous men I have known served in the war.

WWI is easily my favorite time period to study.
Favorite historical figure is probably Thomas Jefferson though he was a bit more globalist than I prefer.
