"What is your duty?"

"To serve the Emperor's will."

"What is the Emperor's will?"

"That we fight and die."

"What is death?"

"It is our duty!"

When you have children, you always have family. They will always be your priority, your responsibility.

And a man, a man provides. And he does it even when he's not appreciated or respected or even loved. He simply bears up and he does it. Because he's a man.

To provide for and protect your family. To teach your sons how to be men.

My grandfather taught me early on that family above all else. We were in Dallas at the furniture market back in the mid 80’s. Going to dinner and he hailed a cab. Opened the door for my grandmother to get in and a dude jumped in front of her trying to steal the cab.

My grandfather leaned into the backseat and dragged the dude out and beat his arse in front of the Hilton in downtown Dallas.

After he was done he looked at me and said never let another man disrespect your wife and get away with it.

He was at the Battle of the Bulge with Omar Bradley’s 12th Army division.
