8 bucks a gallon and frick big oil. About ready to support a ducking luxury tax on them with funds going to alternative energy. they have become clear and present danger to democracy
You do realize the Biden administration raised oil and gas royalties 50% (12% to 18%) in April.
Now tell me who the greedy ones are?

I get that gas prices are high but just how big a piece of your budget is fuel? awful lot of bitching on here about it but I don't see it as that big of a deal
Are you kidding or just trying to be obtuse? Every single thing you buy or consume needs to be delivered. Diesel prices go up 20% guess who’s cost go up? It isn’t the manufacturer or delivery company. It’s your cost that goes up.

It’s $4.50 here in Alabama. Have to buy it to work. Oh, don’t blame daddy on Twitter or you will be banned…like me.

That's cheap. Good for you.

all I said is that I don't see it as having a huge impact on my household budget, but seeing as I invested in quite a bit of oil stocks a couple of years ago when prices were near the crapper I'm kind of enjoying that end of it, two of the companies that I bought stock in are up around 500% returns right now
Congrats to you. All of the plebes celebrate your windfall.
Your story is not typical of most of the populous dealing with this inflation.
Just stay sober when you drive my plane you prick...

Prices have killed my road trip. I was going to be driving the family to RMNP, then through Colorado and Utah, down to the Grand Canyon, then back across Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas, hitting national parks along the way. Instead, I will be driving them to RMNP, then just keeping it to the Front Range in CO.

$4 is about .50/gal less than I’m paying, so congrats

I’ve decide to park my 14 mpg jacked up 4x4 and I took my old V6 1998 5 speed mustang out from under the tarp in our barn.
Took a little TLC but she’s running with 4 new tires and 2 new headlights. Ya there might be a couple of rust spots on the trunk, clear coat peeling off, the inside needs a good cleaning, the tint is terrible, and it hasn’t been inspected since 2011, but there ain’t nothing wrong with the radio
Truck takes 25 gallons to fill up get between 350-380 miles. Car takes 15 gallons to fill up and get 400 miles.
Bonus it’s a 5 speed so someone stealing it will be hard to do

But you see…it’s not just fuel for your car.
Every product you buy has to be shipped.
The materials to build those products are shipped.
Etc
Etc
Fuel inflation drives inflation for everything else. Especially food.

What do you mean breaking point? So stop buying gas if it gets too high?

$4/gallon
Cheap. It's $4.69 here.
And breaking point? Not like you can just stop driving. Maybe cut out a little or combine trips, but ultimately it's not that much.

12 years ago, it seems like $4.50/gal is when folks started cutting back (Ark La Tex area) . So, maybe $5/gal today?
Anyone out there with a fleet vehicle. If so, any signs of restricting that benefit due to high gas prices?

Breaking point as in what? You going to stop going places? Stop paying for it? Pump and Run?
Posted on 6/6/22 at 11:29 am to lsuhunt555
Taking $60 to fill up a Toyota Avalon. Geez man. My old range Rover would be $100+
