How do you define minimum here? Are all job requirements being met in a timely manner?

The bare minimum is all responsibilities you and your employer agreed for you to do at your compensation level. You're obviously a lazy piece of shite if you only do the job you signed on to do

I don't know since it's all hypothetical

One day if you work hard enough you will get to be the boss and make that determination. Until then shut up and sharpen those pencils.

Because the market doesn’t support the pay they desire, and instead of developing skills, designations and certifications, pursuing advancement or a better job elsewhere they simply demand more base pay in their current role for the same job.

How long has that base pay remained stagnant in this hypothetical?

I'm just curious what you consider minimum effort.

As the owner of a business, what do you consider baseline performance? Then expand that to what minimum effort would be.

You have already explained your expectations for going above and beyond.

I think there is a prime moment for anti-capitalism right now, or at least anti-corrupted capitalism.

The issue I see is that so many of these Anti-Work reddit types don't have any redeeming messaging to accompany their tirade against work/the man/corporate slavehood, etc.

There's been a major shift in corporate culture over the last 30 years. Companies used to have a far more vested interest in retaining and rewarding employees but now they look at them as a resource they can milk until they're dry (then replace them with a fresh face, rinse and repeat).

I'm not some bleeding heart liberal, but people have to admit that the growing chasm between the executives and even the mid level people is growing wider and deeper every year and it's fueling shite like this (among other issues).

Just in my situation I can run this company solo. Having help is awesome and I'm willing to do that. But I started it with 0 employees and I can still run it with 0 other employees. So yeah I'm serious. Other companies probably can't do this and some can.

So why even have employees if you can literally do it all yourself? They clearly must not bring a whole lot to the table if you can do your job and all of theirs simultaneously.

If I ask you to do something outside of the scope of your hiring metric I still expect you to do it. You are free to tell me to frick myself too. If that's what you want to do

But you've mentioned workers doing the bare minimum now several times.

Define that.

But why not do it all himself since he apparently can? HE clearly expects a lot out of his workers but he can do multiple other employees jobs on top of his own?

Yo don't see the holes in that story?

No, but I know what he does for a living. His time is better spent not doing the menial tasks.

You can't piss and moan about people working hard and then say you could do all of your employees jobs on top of your own. It's simply not possible.

With zero repercussions? Your ego is obviously so large you wouldn't dare allow that to go unchecked
