What kind of fricked up shmedium jackets are you baws wearing? Or what kind of complex arm motions are you trying to pull off?

Vests are for people that work for a living and need warm clothes on but also need their arms somewhat free to facilitate getting shite done. You people ask the stupidest fkn questions imaginable.

Some of you boys are too soft for a vest. Post not directed at you.

My uncle needs a jacket below 70

I think it’s a good way to keep warm in 50-60 degree weather if you dont want to wear a jacket. I’m talking about Patagonia/NF vests, not silky or suede vests.

What kind of a dumbass has to take the time to ask what's the purpose of a vest? As a few have already pointed out the obvious... warmth without restricting the arms.

Maybe if you're a big belly couch potato type your movement is already restricted but I don't hunt, fish, work, or do anything physical or active when it's cold without one.

Try one, you might like it:

Again, unbelievable that any man would ask this. I guess if wiggling my thumbs on an Xbox was my the extent of my activities I wouldn't know but there's a big f#cking difference in agility between a man's quilted thermal jacket and a vest if you are in a deer stand, duck blind, fishing boat, working with power tools, hammer / hand tools, splitting firewood, yardwork, home maintenance etc... or maybe even someone you know needs help changing a flat... if you know how.

try any of the above with one of these compared to the equivalent thermal coat as you'll see:

To let everyone know that you're open to the idea of putting a penis in your mouth.

Same purpose as a bowtie.

It's not all I wear, but it's nice when it's in the 50's. Enough to knock the chill out, but not be too warm. Especially if you are in and out of buildings.

I've also been stuck with only a vest and a knit cap in the 30's and been comfortable enough before. Keeping your core warm goes a long way.

I wear a down vest under my wool jacket when I am hunting. It keeps my core warm while still allowing mobility in my arms.

I am super unhappy that vests aren't more popular. I have several cool knitting patterns that I want to make, but Mr DP refuses.

I'm not much of a vest guy, but it's the perfect article of clothing for raking leaves in the fall.
