The point is the whole Western Hemisphere is opened up to you. Hundreds of millions more people you could talk to.

It would be cool to know a second language I guess. I could use Spanish pretty much every day here in Houston.

Puerto Rico, while not technically foreign is a great place to visit. Dominican Republic, Cuba and much of Caribbean if they are not speaking French, your Spanish can go a long way.

Might want to reread my post. I said they speak Spanish in Europe but that is a different type of Spanish.

I know the Spanish they speak in Mexico is not the same Spanish they speak in Europe.
They aren't that different. The difference is primarily in accent and miscellaneous key words/phrases.

That sounds really exotic and exciting. Speaking Spanish three hours down the road in an English speaking country.

I think maybe 1 or top 20 GDP countries speaks Spanish. Brazil is Portuguese speaking.
Basically, a bunch of shithole countries speak Spanish. Plus, nearly all educated people speak English if work for multi national company.

This whole foreign language push is a waste of time.

Mexicans are like billiard balls...the harder you hit them, the more English you get out of them!

Old French is different than modern day French.

Old English is different that modern day English.

They speak old Spanish in Mexico.

So you don't know Spanish and you're going to be the gatekeeper on how the language works around the world? Damn, you are an idiot. Would you like me to call you an idiot in Spanish as well?

You ignored the first part of my post, but yeah I’m sure some of them are. Do you know how much more of an attractive job candidate you are if you are bilingual with Spanish?
