Probably the 1992 Presidential Election. I was five years old at the time. I remember my dad telling me he was voting for Clinton and so I voted for him too in our school's mock election. Incidentally, that was the first and last time dad ever voted for a Democrat in a presidential election.

The George Prince ferry disaster.
I remember watching the names of the dead scrolling on Channel 4 (IIRC), looking for may Dad's name, knowing that he often took that ferry to work. My Mom knew he was OK, but had not told me, because she didn't realize I was watching the news.
