It depends a lot. What is the existing land use?

If it’s cane, for example, you are going to get smoked out once a year and deal with trucks on grinding season.

What’s the pattern in the area? If the burbs are growing toward you, you could get a subdivision or trailer park there next year.

You also have to factor in homeowners insurance. If you are 33 miles from the nearest fire station, that coverage is going to be costly.

If your water comes from a well, well, be sure you know what we’ll water tastes like. It can be pretty hard.

Those are some things to think about. Unless you are building a meth lab. Then maybe you’ll fit right in.

In Palo Alto 1.5 acres will probably run you around $20mil. While in Denham you can get 1.5 acres on a pipe fabricators salary—that’s if you move a trailer on it for a few years before building your DSLD spec dream home.

1.5 acres is tiny

About covers my front yard. Really.

My neck of the woods, lucky to get that under $20K. And yes, I live in the sticks, but most lots are over 10 ac.

There is a new neighborhood being built near my house. The lots, which is just under an acre, is going for $75k. While that is different to 1.5 acres of land in a rural area, I just think that's a little too much.

I was just trying to get an idea of what people would consider too much, etc..

Probably 5-7500.

Land around my hometown that used to go for 3-4k and acre is now reaching 30k per acre. Economic growth is great, and I know a lot of folks who have made a good bit of coin in the past year, but damn, do I hate seeing fields and forests being converted in to factories and suburbs.

Live in a delta town where land for housing is scarce. Only majority white town in our county. 3500 people.

20k per acre
