Granted I know I’m arguing largely with a bunch of Catholics who think that every sperm is sacred, but I think in this day and age it is morally wrong to have more than 5 kids. If you can’t fit your family in a Suburban, then you should stop having kids.

It really is irresponsible to have a lot of kids. Back then I understand there was no birth control and the mother was at home, etc, but today. If you have to take care of 7, 8..9 kids. If the household income is... Let's say $75k. That isn't going to go too far.

Could you imagine what the weekly grocery bill would be if you have 9 mouths to feed? I hear people with 3 kids complaining about how they can't ever go to walmart without spending less than $150.

And by the time they get to their 4th, 5th, 6th kid.. They are not going to be able to give them the same attention as the older kids

I know some people "love babies", but they don't stay babies.

My grandma was one of 13. She used to joke and say, well there wasn't any TV back then so her parents had to do something to entertain themselves.

But they were poor farmers in southern Arkansas so all the kids worked the farm when they weren't in school.

I bet this was the case for a lot of people. It's not like the kids were just sitting around playing video games, they actually had shite to do.

I understand before basic medicine having that many kids, since around a 1/3 would not live to see adulthood simply due to disease. But in this era in the United States, you’re a selfish a-hole for having more than 4 or 5 kids. If everyone had 12 kids, then our society would fall in on itself and give us a genuine need for a violent visionary like Thanos.

Oh for sure, big family meant more free labor. My grandma told me that when the cotton was ready to harvest the boys didn't go to school for several weeks until they had picked all the cotton. Same thing in the spring when they were planting.

I have a client that has 12 or 14 kids. They purchased one of those Mercedes Benz minnie bus looking things. So they basically have a baseball team and a bullpen

Having cash doesn’t mean you’re morally righteous to do this. Those kids won’t get the attention they deserve and will become plagues upon society. If everyone did this, then we’d be fricked as a species. Having more than 5 kids in this current environment is morally deplorable.

My mom's SO is one of 12. He's also 75, black, and grew up in North Carolina. His mom lived to 106. Toughest old black lady I ever met. Took a shot of whiskey and plug of snuff every day.

No clue how they did it, but every one of his siblings I met (6 of the 9 that were still alive) were moderately to incredibly successful.

What's up with the Catholic crap?

Because every sperm is sacred. Every sperm is great. If a sperm gets wasted, God gets quite irate: LINK

My Mom was one of 13 kids in her family. Needless to say I have an assload of cousins...

The most I have ever seen was a guy and girl (brother and sister) that I used to work with. They had 23 kids in their family...

Well since he quips about #1 moving out, I hope his friends are quipping that he’s a selfish menace to society by not being responsible with his dick.
