Get on google maps and drop a pin anywhere in the state. You’ll be no more than 40 minutes from some beautiful scenery. You’re also guaranteed to be within an hour of a shithole. Gotta take the good with the bad.

Growing up hunting in the Spillway, I have to think there isn’t much in Louisiana that would even come close.

South Louisiana's coast, marshes, and swamps beat anything in North Louisiana. What's in North Louisiana could be in just about any other state.

Do you think marshes and swamps are exclusive to South Louisiana only?
And aside, why do you have such hate in your heart for North Louisiana? This at least the third or fourth thread I've read that you had to interject your strange disdain for it.

The Ouachita where it cuts through the Sicily Island Hills near H’burg is pretty. The Ouachita is a pretty river. The Red north of Hwy 2 is a pretty river.
The rusted out half-sunken shrimp boats of S La are a distant third.

I will accept this rebuttal as I have never been there. I’ll put this on my list.
Anything worth seeing in the area this spring?

I've driven most of Louisiana over the years. There's pockets here and there that are superior to others. If you like big sky, south Louisiana is for you. If you like variety in your terrain, North Louisiana is for you. Generally I gravitate to the hills. For me, an old growth hardwood hillside with a rock or two looking down on a creek or bayou is where I like it best. The area around Farmerville is beautiful. Dorcheat Bayou is flat gorgeous if you get back into the northern parts of it where it cuts into the hills. The area heading into Harrisonburg is pretty. Kisatchie is pretty but too many pines.
The swamps aren lakes look similar wherever you are but Caddo Lake is my personal favorite for just sheer Louisiana looking beauty. Problem is the prettiest parts are in Texas.

Sitting on a bench in Jackson Square on a beautiful Sunday facing the St Louis Cathedral! With drink in hand and a brass band playing nearby of course.
