Drunk once at work. Of course, it didn't help that I was at my bosses house party before my shift started.

She basically fed me alcohol and knew I had to go in later. So I didn't feel too bad about it

I waited tables still drunk from the night before while I was in college. Did that quite a bit.

I've been more drunk than the whole Sioux Tribe at work.

But only when entertaining clients.

Current job never.

College job. 4 margaritas with lunch. Delivery job. I was 20 and trashed. Chewing peppermints and big red like a fiend.

Worked at a liquor store while I was in college and we were allowed to drink on the job. I got drunk a few times.

17 working on construction sites in the summer as a cleanup guy/general labor. One day they put me on the roof with the Mexicanos and they just kept tossing me beers. Turned into us playing beer can soccer then violently blowing chunks in the 100 degree heat.

Worked at a golf course and got so drunk on the ball picker, I passed out behind the wheel while turning.

I did circles for over an hour while passed out.

24oz martinis and Louisiana heat.

A long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away....

I had a job where I had to catch a work boat.

I could sleep for hours if I just made it to the boat before it left.

So plenty there & then.

I'd have been wonderful help if there'd been any kind of emergency.

It's a little known secret that many nuclear reactor startups in the Navy are done by crews transitioning from drunk to hungover. If a sub goes underway at 9AM it's likely the reactor startup will start (with a briefing, of course) at 3AM or so. If you're on the startup team, you can either go to sleep early and go in well rested. Or you can close out the bars and go straight to work. Of course, there's a difference between a responsible decision I would make now in my late 30's and what my 21 year old self would do on his last night in Australia.

FWIW, there's nothing about a startup that requires much critical thinking or coordination.

Came a shower one evening at dark, we were picking cotton so hedged our bets we'd have the following day off, or at the most a lazy day around the shop. Tied on a good one, I was wrong and was still drunk at 7:30 and had to roll all day. usually worked the worms out around 3pm and was ready to roll again though.

I wasn't drunk but far worse. As a teenager, a cattle farmer was paying me to bush hog his cattle fields. After several days of seeing mushrooms growing from the cow pies..... you know the rest of the story...

First job out of college when fall rolled around I tried raging with the bros still in college during rush and stuff and was still completely fricked up the next morning at work and into noon. Just hating it but at least I was able to low key it.

Never been drunk on the job (save for corporate functions and parties), but in college I got stoned into an oblivion on the job.

Once I had to show up to work at 6:00 in the morning, but there was a music fest in town the night before. Did acid that night and retardedly took another dose at 4:30 in the morning, an hour and a half before going to work. It was our annual largest conference for Ole Miss during the summer, and my boss said I could go home for a bit since he needed me to pick up someone from the Memphis airport at 9:00. I was tripping face unable to carry on any conversation and knew I would only be worse at 9:00 (the trip was only getting more intense by the second). I had to keep my eyes on the Spedometer going up to the airport because I thought I was going a thousand miles an hour. Thanks to divine intervention, the plane was delayed 3 hours and I had finally come off the trip by the time the plane landed.

I had a temp job once at a call center that I quickly realized was bullshite but I also realized they had to pay me until they fired me so I showed up every day, dicked around on the internet in the morning and didn't call anybody. Then I'd go to lunch and bring back a big arse vodka and sprite. Took them about a week to can me.
