The LC is still made mostly in Japan unless something has very recently changed. The frame on the LC is also way beefier than the Sequoia. I really love my Sequoia but I would trade it in sec if a good deal came up on a LC.

Also, someone on the 1st page said the there is a Sequoia version in Lexus. There isn't.

Please don't. The world doesn't need another totaled 1st gen going to the scrapyard.

I have had a 01 tacoma, 03 sequoia and a 07 4runner. Toyota SUV's and trucks are the best vehicles on the road imo. Only bad part was the sequoia got like 10mpg or less but it was the most comfortable vehicle I have ever owned. If I could afford a LC, I would buy one today. They are incredible vehicles.

We bought our daughter one this past summer as she just turned 16. We just like the way it looks. My son says he wants one when he turns 16 but he doesn't know yet that I am getting him a 68 Z28 Camaro. I don't know if the price is worth it for the LC but she likes to be popular and money is not an issue....so why not.

If the Land Cruiser Prado was available in the US it would be my next vehicle

It is. It's called a Lexus GX460.

Clucker: the reason the Toyota and Lexus have nearly the same price is that there are certain people who only buy Land Cruisers but would never buy a Lexus. They don't care what it costs. Visit some old-money enclaves like Nantucket - tons of LC's, very few Lexus'.

His friend has a 65 Mustang and he has never had issues. His dad is a real douche if you know what I mean. I am just trying to insure my son has a cooler car than the douchebags son.

So you're trying to out-douche him? Great idea, pops. If my dad bought me a '68 Camaro I would immediately know he took out a huge life insurance policy on me.

Actually, it is the GX 470. My wife drives one and it has never been in the shop ever in 80K miles. (I do the brakes).

The Toyota Prado is not available in the US market.

Actually in 2010 it became the GX 460 because they began using a different engine.

I believe this is accurate. The Lexus line has the RX (essentially the ES car with a modular SUV/wagon body instead of a sedan), the GX (Lexus version of 4Runner), and LX (Lexus version of Land Cruiser).

The Sequoia itself is to the Tundra, what the Expedition is to the F-150. And American made in San Antonio, IIRC. Unless they've done something with the higher volume, "value" priced IS, Lexus are still made in Japan.

U.S. market Toyota trucks and Sequoia are made in the U.S. Land Cruiser and 4Runner are made in Japan (despite the close relationship between 4Runner and Tacoma).

GX 460 is the newer version, made side by side with the LC Prado.

ETA: I see Gary answered this already

I guess but the 460 sucks compared to the 470

What they need to bring to the US is the LC70:

I'd sell my LC200 in a heartbeat for one of these.
