What is the closest whitewater rafting to Baton Rouge ?

Colorodo or Tennessee is a far plane flight . But are there fun streams in Arkansaw or misssispi ?

The drive to TN/ocoee is like 8hours from BR. You'd basically be driving the same distance trying to get to NW Arkansas.

Buffalo River (near Jasper) in Arkansas if the water level is right.

Cossatot River, maybe 50 miles or so above Texarkana.

probably not stage 4 rapids or anything but you said close

probably better hurry, don't know when it dries up for summer

I don't know as much about NW Arkansas.
The ocoee has chatanooga 45 mins aways, Gatlinburg (meh if that's your thing) or blue ridge, GA.

Also the ocoee is the old Olympic course from the Atlanta games. So has a dam control release to keep water levels high. It's a fun course. I've done it 3 times.

I don't know if he still works there but the guy who played the banjo kid in Deliverance was working in the Walmart in Clayton, GA as of 2012.
