I know everyone says Khan Acadmey but are there any others that people have used? Also what is your overall review of the help you've received using Khan Academy?

Thank you for your help!!

I've heard that as well, I have a final Wednesday that I'm starting to study for today. Just trying to see if anyone has any recommendations on ways to study. Thanks

Work every problem in the book. Don't waste your time doing anything else.

no I've been working problems with my tutor at the cox building but she went on her family vacation Friday so I'm on my own this week for final. We worked the first and little of the second page of a 4 page study guide.

Khan, patrickjmt (sp?) , bff math girl (sp?).

You just have to learn the basics. If you just understand the rules of algebra manipulation and identities, any problem isn't that hard. Understanding what you are doing greatly helps. Memorizing steps is the wrong way to do math and math application.

I remember in calculus the issue I had was not the calculus, it was the algebra. Once I brushed back up in it, I aced the class. Take your time and try it instead of feeling overwhelmed.

Practice and more practice is what you need so you can identify easily what you are doing.

Take the training wheels off and do it. People who are good at math work at, there's no trick. Start at the beginning and work #1, then #2...

Put a bookmark at the beginning and one at the end so you can see how you're progressing. You'll be surprised how far you'll get say in 12 hours. By Wednesday if you put 30 or so hours you'll know a ton more than looking for short cuts.

Put in the work. I think it took me about 40 hours to work through the Calc 1550 problems...you have to be critical of yourself though, and confident when you know something, move on if you can...keep working if you can't.

Good luck.

I've been in the work force for 16 years and I still work 40 hours over a few days to finish projects. It never gets easier, but when you know the process is going to work it makes starting much more familiar. Calm down and open the book.

This applies to damn near everything in life.

People aren't good at skills because they think they can never be good at them, so they don't try.

If you have a growth mindset, and know that you can acquire skills by relentlessly actually doing them, you are capable of a tremendous amount. And that's not sunshine pumping, it's just the damn truth. People hold themselves back.

study?

do all the problems. not just the even ones.

in your case, having waited too late, select one at random from every group of problems. if you get it, move on. If you can't do it, do that chapter from beginning to end.

Wolfram alpha can show you a step by step explanation for any problems you cannot solve for pro members. I think pro is like $7 a month, but it could be handy if you get stumped on a problem

That is a good suggestion too. Chegg has full answers with how to as well.
