About an inch of gasoline in a longneck bottle. Shove it in the hole neck first, walk away and pick the bottle up in a couple days. Do it at night when everybodies home or you’ll a swarm of returners around the bottle

Diesel, don’t light it

Fire Marshall Bill here.
If you must light something on fire please use something heavier like diesel or kerosene. Not gasoline. Your local ER thanks you for your efforts.

Wait until dusk when they go dormant. Pour gasoline into the hole. End of story.
ETA and PSA: No need to light it. In fact, please don't.

Find the hole in the daylight and put something next to it to mark it.
Fill a long neck bottle with gas and when dark put it upside down in the hole.
Leave it until morning. In the morning the nest will be dead.

Reverse yellow jacket??? It's not turning up any results in the pornhub search bar. Is there another term for it?

As a youngster, i would take one of my moms wine cooler bottles and turn it into a Molotov cocktail.
Set it next to the entrance in the ground and then go get the .22 and shoot it. The fire would follow the gas into the nest and illuminate the problem

I usually start by stomping on the hole and stay there until they suffocate. Wait those mofos out. If you move and they come out to sting you repeatedly, just get back on the hole because they’re not dead yet.

On a November afternoon between the hedges. Works, every..time

I live in the woods so my preferred method might not work for everyone. We have a lot of raccoons around, I pour just a bit of honey and peanut butter around nest entry to attract the raccoons, they will dig up the nest and eat every yellow jacket and the nest itself.

They usually have two access holes to the nest. Place mason jars open-air down over those holes and you're done. They'll dehydrate and die within a day and you don't have to worry about burning the yard or yourself up.

Wait until dark or until hive activity dies down. Use a 2 or 3 liter Soda bottle about 1/3 full of gasoline. Turn it over and stuff the top into the hole and the gas flows into the hole. If any jackets fly out, they get stuck in the bottle. Look out for any other exits they may have and repeat the gas in the bottle process in the other hole (holes).

Nobody listen to this advise. We must be entertained.

People have mentioned soapy water and your probably thinking it won’t work. It absolutely does, just as good as any commercial spray. The soapy water coats their spiracles (respiratory openings) and the film created basically shuts off that path. They instantly have their air shut off and they die.
The wasp spray likely works the same way but you probably already have Dawn under your sink.
